Frequently asked questions

Everything about bidding, deposits, winning and selling on BIDZ. Something missing? Ask us directly. hello@bidz.app

What is BIDZ?

BIDZ is a live auction app for Lebanon. Sellers list items — cars, phones, watches, electronics, anything of value — and buyers bid in real time. The highest bid when the countdown ends wins, and buyer and seller meet to complete the deal.

Is bidding free?

Yes. Browsing and bidding are free. When you join an auction, a small refundable deposit is held to keep bidding serious — but that’s your own money, and it’s released back automatically if you don’t win.

What happens to my deposit if I lose the auction?

It’s released back to you automatically. You only ever lose a deposit if you win an auction and then refuse to complete the deal.

How do I pay for an item I won?

You pay the seller directly at the handover, after inspecting the item. BIDZ doesn’t process the purchase price — the deposit system and dispute process are what protect the deal.

Someone bid at the last second — why did the timer restart?

That’s anti-snipe protection. A bid in the closing moments extends the countdown so everyone can respond. Auctions on BIDZ end when bidding stops, not when someone with fast fingers gets lucky.

What if the item isn’t as described?

Don’t pay for it — you inspect before you pay. If something’s wrong beyond that (a no-show, a misrepresented item, a problem after handover), open a dispute in the app. The BIDZ team reviews evidence from both sides and issues a ruling, including what happens to the deposit.

How do I know a seller is trustworthy?

Every seller verifies their identity before listing, and every seller has a public track record — completed deals and dispute outcomes — that you can read before bidding. No fake star ratings.

What can I sell on BIDZ?

Anything of value that’s legal to sell — vehicles, phones, computers, watches, cameras, collectibles, furniture. Listings go through verification, and prohibited items are removed.

What does it cost to sell?

Listing is free. A seller fee applies only when your item sells — the exact figure is published on our fees section before you list. No sale, no fee.

What’s a reserve price?

A minimum the seller is willing to accept. If bidding ends below the reserve, the item simply doesn’t sell and nobody owes anything. You always see whether a reserve is met.

Can I skip the auction and just buy?

On listings with a Buy Now price, yes — pay the fixed price and the auction ends immediately with you as the winner.

When is BIDZ launching?

Soon, in Lebanon first. Join the waitlist and you’ll be first to know — and first in the feed.
